Wall Street closed lower for a third-straight day on Wednesday as oil resumed its decline, fuelling investor worries about global economic growth. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 78 points, or 0.43%, to 17,492, the S&P 500 lost 16 points, or 0.77%, to 2,048 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 75 points, or 1.48%, to 5,023. After a morning rally, both oil and stocks reversed courses and investors also prepared for a Federal Reserve meeting next week that is expected to result in an interest rate increase.
