Martin Gray
Non-executive Director
Martin began his fund management career in 1979, he established the investment division of a UK authorised company in 1987, becoming a director in 1990.
Martin joined Miton in 1994 as a fund manager and launched the Strategic Fund in December 1996, followed a year later by the Special Situations Fund. Following the merger with Midas Capital in March 2008, Martin continues to manage the funds with exactly the same remit, whilst becoming joint manager of the CF Miton Arcturus Fund. | ||

Sam Liddle
Sam began his investment career with Morgan Grenfell in 1984 launching their portfolio service in 1989.
In 1995 he moved to Singer & Friedlander and in 1999 he moved to Legg Mason investors to undertake a similar role. In Jan 2003 Sam joined Miton Investments and brought with him the CF Miton Global Portfolio and CF Miton Extra Income Portfolio. | ||

Nick Greenwood
Nick commenced his career in private client stock broking during the late 1970s.
Nick was a founder member of Christows stockbroking operation in 1991. He joined the Christows Investment Trust team setting up their London office in 1995 and became lead manager in November 1997. Nick joined iimia in July 2002; iimia Accelerated was launched in April 2003 and was followed by iimia Investment Trust in April 2004. Nick became Chief Investment Officer following the merger with Exeter Fund Managers in August 2005. In February 2008 following the merger with Midas Capital Partners, Nick became Group Investment Director. | ||

James Sullivan
James has worked in the finance industry since 1999.
When iimia was launched in April 2002, as a standalone merger of the investment departments of Foot Anstey Sargent and another Exeter-based solicitor, James worked on the Private Client side of the business before moving across to the Fund Management division as a Funds Analyst. Following the merger with Midas Capital, James was appointed as assistant manager to Martin Gray. | ||

Managing Director & Chief Investment Officer
Scott is Managing Director of MitonOptimal and Chief Investment Officer.
He commenced his career with AMP Group in New Zealand in 1989 then joined Appleton in 1996 and was appointed MD of Appleton International London in 2000. Scott has achieved a five star ranking and awards from Standard & Poor's for the management of several of the Appleton range of offshore funds. In 2002 he set up what is now MitonOptimal Guernsey and leads the development of MitonOptimal Multi Asset Management based in Cape Town. |

Head of International Portfolio Management
Joanne is a Director of MitonOptimal in South Africa and Head of International Portfolio Management.
She is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Having spent 6 years with Appleton Asset Management, Joanne moved to Optimal Fund Management prior to the merger with Miton Investments. Based in Cape Town, she has lead responsibility for macro economic, asset allocation and fundamental research. |

Head of South African Portfolio Management
Roeloff is a Director and Fund Manager of MitonOptimal in South Africa and Head of South African Portfolio Management.
He is a founder and director of Eagle Asset Management (now MitonOptimal Multi-Asset Management, after finalisation of merger) and Bond Street Financial Services. He founded Bond Street Financial Services in 2000 and was instrumental in structuring the company as a Global Private Wealth Management Company, focused to serve a select group of financial advisors with investment advice and portfolio management services. He has managed the Sentinel Diversified Income and Worldwide Flexible Fund of Funds since its inception in 2005 and 2008 respectively. |

Head of MitonOptimal Asset Consulting
Professor Evan Gilbert is Head of Institutional Asset Consulting for MitonOptimal Multi Asset Management.
He holds a visiting professorship position at the Economics Department of the University of Stellenbosch. In addition to his doctorate from the University of Cambridge, he also holds a BCom in Accounting, Economics and Law from Rhodes University, a BCom Honours in Economics from UCT and an MComm in Economics from Wits University. Professor Gilbert joined MitonOptimal from Cadiz Asset Management where he was a research analyst. Previously he was an Associate Professor at the University of Stellenbosch’s Economics Department, following six years at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. |

Quantitative Analyst & Head Dealer
Simon joined MitonOptimal in South Africa at the beginning of 2008, has a commerce degree in Financial Management from the University of the Free-State and is currently a level 2 Candidate in the CFA® program.
He has been employed in the financial industry since 2004 in various capacities and is responsible for Technical and Quantitative fund analysis in MitonOptimal. He is also in charge of dealing on the underlying investments held within our portfolios. |

Cherie-lee joined MitonOptimal in South Africa during March 2006. Cherie-lee has 20 years industry experience, having worked for Standard Bank, TMA, Fedsure International and Bondstreet Financial Services. Her role is to focus on business development for the group. She is currently obtaining her SAIFM diploma.

Greg has accumulated over 30 years’ experience in employee benefits administration and consulting and investments consulting, holding senior positions at Old Mutual, Alexander Forbes and First Bowrings Consulting and Actuarial Services.
He joined MitonOptimal from Sterling Financial Services where he was responsible for employee benefits consulting and support since 2001. Greg is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). |

Operations Manager
Taryn has worked within the financial industry for the past 16 years.
Initially starting her career with Appleton in 1994. Taryn has worked very closely with Scott Campbell and spent 6 years in the UK setting up both the London and Guernsey offices. Currently Taryn is the Operations Manager for MitonOptimal in South Africa and runs all aspects of the back office, including the accounting, compliance, human resources and company secretarial functions. |

Sales Administrator
Terry has worked in the financial services industry for the past 30 years.
Her career began in 1981 with Barclays National Bank (now First National Bank). Terry moved to Syfrets Limited in 1987 (now Nedgroup Investments) and fullfilled numerous functions from back office to sales support during a 20 year period. Terry joined MitonOptimal in South Africa during January 2007 as Sales Administrator and is responsible for Marketing & Administrative functions supporting the MitonOptimal Team. |

Leonie’s working career started more than 39 years ago as an administrator at the United Building Society (now part of ABSA Bank).From there, she held various positions at the Old Mutual over a period of more than 16 years, including that of Department Head and Branch Manager (Administration).
She joined MitonOptimal from Sterling Financial Services where she was resonsible for Employee Benefits administration since March 1999. |

Kelly is a newly appointed staff member at MitonOptimal. Kelly has been appointed as receptionist and admin assistant.
She is hoping to help MitonOptimal current staff with administrative duties, as well as gain experience in the Corporate world. She is hardworking and determined to help where she can. |
